Union's Creavalle making the most of his playing time

When the Major League Soccer preseason began, there didn't appear to be a place in the Union midfield for Warren Creavalle as a starter.

But three games into the season, he has made two starts, and both have been wins.

Injuries to Vincent Nogueira (ankle), who has missed the last two games, and Tranquillo Barnetta, who has yet to play due to knee tendonitis, provided some midfielder openings.

The 25-year-old Creavalle was acquired on Aug. 7 from Toronto and played five games for the Union last season, making two starts.

Creavalle's best season was 2013, when he started 17 games and scored a career-high three goals for the Houston Dynamo.
