Toronto FC come to Talen Energy Stadium in no better shape than they were a month ago, when they beat the Union 3-0 at home. TFC sat at the bottom of the table then, and they’ve barely managed to pull themselves out of that pit. They currently boast the third-worst points per game total in the Eastern Conference, and the sixth-worst total league-wide. Since their spanking of the Union in May, they’ve taken only four points from five games. Two of their three losses in that stretch have come at home. TFC surely expected to drop points as they threw everything at the Concacaf Champions League, but a prolonged CCL hangover has them struggling to salvage their season.
