The Union will meet New York City FC for the first time this season on Saturday night.
NYCFC are under new management, with Patrick Vieira now in charge of OGC Nice in Ligue 1. Pep Guardiola acolyte Domè Torrent was appointed on June 11th, and the Bronx side has since gone 6-2-1. Their most recent victory came at Toronto FC last Sunday. Despite Jozy Altidore’s 11th minute sending off, NYCFC still required a late goal from Ismael Tajouri-Shradi to grab all three points.
The Blues’ only losses under Torrent have come on the road, where they’ve looked much more human than they have at home (they’re still undefeated at Yankee Stadium in 2018).
