Union trade Ethan White to NYCFC

Ethan White has been traded to New York City FC for their natural fourth-round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, the Philadelphia Union announced today.

Last week, Steven Goff of the Washington Post reported that the Union did not pick up White's contract option. Earlier today, he said that the Union had dealt him to NYCFC.

White and NYCFC hinted at the move earlier this week, when the two parties followed each other on Twitter. That's essentially an official trade announcement these days.

Since the Union still have not released their official list of roster transactions, the status of White, among others, was up in the air.
