The Philadelphia Union have re-signed defender Fabinho ahead of the 2016 season, the club announced Friday. Per club and league policy, additional details were not disclosed.
“Fabinho adds depth to our back line and we are happy to have him back with us ahead of the 2016 season,” Philadelphia Union Sporting Director Earnie Stewart said. “We have spent a great deal of time looking to strengthen our back line during this off-season and we are confident that Fabinho’s veteran experience will add value on the field and in the locker room.”
Fabinho, 30, joined the Union on June 28, 2013 as a free transfer and has appeared in 59 games and started 52, notching two goals and seven assists in regular season play during his three seasons with the club.
