Union Foundation, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer unveil Philly’s first mini-pitch

Philadelphia has a new mini-pitch thanks in part to the Philadelphia Union Foundation. Last week the foundation, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer, city officials and community members gathered at F.J. Myers Recreation Center to unveil a mini soccer pitch.

The Union Foundation and Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer are committing more than a million dollars to building a total of 15 mini-soccer pitches and two full-size fields across Philadelphia.

The soccer pitches are part of the city’s Rebuild Initiative, an investment into revitalizing public spaces across the city.

At the unveiling Philly’s Major Jim Kenney said.
