Union finally sign Czech midfielder Borek Dockal after long negotiation with Chinese team

After spending nearly a week with the team waiting for all the paperwork to get finished, Borek Dockal officially joined the Union on Wednesday.

The deal is a loan, but the Union’s official announcement of the deal did not state the loan’s duration. Sporting director Earnie Stewart and manager Jim Curtin may have something to say about that when they meet with the media later Wednesday at Talen Energy Stadium.

The Union had been pursuing the Czech midfielder for quite some time, and he joined the team’s preseason training camp in Clearwater, Fla., last Wednesday. He was on the team’s bench during Saturday’s final preseason warmup game, and trained at Tuesday’s practice with media watching.
