Philadelphia Union drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace of the English Premier League in front of a paid attendance of 12,881 at Talen Energy Stadium on Wednesday night. Union Academy product Derrick Jones made his First Team debut as a halftime substitute. Jones had signed a short-term agreement with the Union earlier in the day. Philadelphia returns to MLS action when they host New York Red Bulls July 17.
The friendly started off with both clubs getting acclimated with each other. Philadelphia created their best opportunity in the first 30 minutes from MLS All-Star Keegan Rosenberry. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft gathered a loose ball at the edge of the box, but his attempt sailed just over the bar.
