Another candidate for the Union's Celebration of the Year is Oguchi Onyewu and his goal against DC United on May 13.
Onyewu had already played a match in RFK Stadium in Washington DC, his hometown, but it was his second match where he made some magic happen. With the Union already leading 1-0, Haris Medunjanin sent in a corner into the box, where Ogcuhi Onyewu got his head on the ball. His header beat Bill Hamid for his first and only goal of the season.
What made Onyewu's goal even more special was that it was his first MLS goal and his first professional goal since 2015.
