When the Union host Toronto FC Saturday afternoon, it will be more than just Philadelphia's home opener. It's a chance to put the 2016 firmly behind them, beating the team which knocked the Union out of the playoffs.
2016 saw the Union take over the Eastern Conference, finding themselves at the top of the table midway through the season. An less than ideal second half of the season saw the Union fall down the standings, but ultimately still make the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. Their opponent? Toronto FC.
The Union traveled north to Canada for the single elimination game.
