On Feb. 2, the United States U-18 Men’s National Team coach Omid Namazi called in 24 players for the team’s training camp in preparation for two upcoming matches against Costa Rica.
Among the 24 players called in was Philadelphia Union Academy goalkeeper Kris Shakes.
The Coral Springs, Florida native is no stranger to call-ups to the National Team. In May of 2016, Shakes was called into the U-17’s US National Team camp. This season will also mark his third year with the Academy.
This past season, the goalkeeper represented both the U-17 and U-19 Union Academy teams and competed in 12 games.
