Philadelphia Union displayed their youth on the national stage this week in Marietta, Georgia at the 2018 MLS Homegrown Game. Prior to the 2018 MLS All-Star Game, four members of the Union took the pitch for the MLS Homegrown side to take on Tigres U-20s.
The Union tied an MLS record prior to the match with four players selected for the game, matching the all-time MLS record for the most players chosen from one club in Homegrown Game history. That mark is tied with Real Salt Lake’s four players from the 2016 Homegrown Game.
Anthony Fontana and Auston Trusty started the first 45 for the MLS side and made immediate impacts as play began.
