Alejandro Bedoya, Chris Pontius and CJ Sapong were named to the initial 40-man roster for the US Men's National Team competing in the Gold Cup this summer.
Bedoya has been a national team staple of late, competing with the USMNT in the CONCACAF Hexagonal as well as appearing in 2014 FIFA World Cup. Bedoya was also a part of the 2011 and 2013 Gold Cup rosters, the latter of which he assisted on two Landon Donovan goals to send the US to the Gold Cup Finals, where the team won their first Gold Cup in six years.
Pontius has been getting looks by the National team of late, making his first appearance for the USMNT in January in the USMNT's friendly against Serbia.
