The 2016 MLS SuperDraft was crucial for Philadelphia Union. The club selected three players with the first six picks in the draft and the choices paid dividends. The rookies made an immediate impact for the club as Josh Yaro, Keegan Rosenberry and Fabian Herbers combined for 5,677 minutes played, the most by a rookie class in MLS in 2016. That’s the most by a club’s Super/Supplemental draftees since 2006, when Chivas USA’s draft class played 6,721. The previous club record was from the inaugural class in 2010 at 3,087 minutes.
Below we take a look at each’s selection’s rookie campaign.
