San Jose will be without coach and team leaders in goals, assists for Union game

The San Jose Earthquakes didn’t do the Philadelphia Union any favors with a 3-1 loss to Atlanta United on Saturday, but they will be missing two of their key players and their head coach for Wednesday’s match at Avaya Stadium.

Cristian Espinoza, who leads the Earthquakes in assists this season with 12, was sent off by referee Chris Penso in the 34th minute for a second yellow card.

Chris Wondolowski, who leads the team in goals with 14, was sent off in the first minute of second half stoppage time for foul and abusive language a half hour he subbed out of the game.
