A strong second half propelled Saint Joseph’s to a comeback win over Rhode Island on Wednesday night thanks to a pair of goals and an assist from junior midfielder Matt Crawford.
Crawford (Bensalem, Pa.) found an equalizer in the 48th minute and then assisted on a Derek MacKinnon (Washington Township, N.J.) goal six minutes later that held up as the game-winner. Crawford added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute, his seventh of the season.
With the win, Saint Joseph’s evened their record at 5-5-1 and improved to 2-0-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play for the first time since 2007.
