The Union made it all the way to the final last season and they aren’t about to give up on their Open Cup dream just because of last year’s heartbreak. DC United often plays Open Cup games at the Maryland Soccerplex, but this matchup is too big to move from Audi Field.
Revenge on their mind
Last year, the Union waltzed into DC and hushed the crowd at the then-brand-new Audi Field. Philly owned the game and the 2-0 scoreline was more than fair. But all that means is that DC remembers a drubbing and will want to impose themselves at home.
