This past week, three Philadelphia Union Academy players traded their blue-and-gold kits for red, white and blue. Matthew Real (Drexel Hill, Pa.) and Anthony Fontana (Newark, Del.) were at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. for the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team Camp. Michael Pellegrino (Wenonah, N.J.) was in Italy with the Under-16 Boys’ National Team for the Tournament Delle Nazione, won by the U.S. a year ago.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be selected and to represent your country,” Academy Director Tommy Wilson said. “They are just the latest in a bigger group of players who have achieved that recently.
