From its inception as a fan-driven franchise to its current push up the Eastern Conference standings, Philadelphia Union has always been a club that inspires strong emotions. The giddy arrivals at Lincoln Financial Stadium for the first match turned an American football stadium into a rowdy hotbed of soccer love, announcing the Union’s arrival with frenzied whoops and hollers when Sebastien Le Toux scored the club’s first goal.
That initial response changed Le Toux forever, and he has held the City of Brotherly Love in an endless embrace ever since. Recently, the Union honored the superb French striker by making him the first ever inductee into the Union Ring of Honor.
