Chris Pontius continues to showcase his talents for the Philadelphia Union. Pontius recorded his fourth goal of the season in the 30th minute in the Union’s 1-1 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes in front of 16,079 at Talen Energy Stadium. Pontius was able to find the corner of the net off a header, after receiving a beautiful corner from Tranquillo Barnetta.
“It’s something we go over, we go over set pieces a lot. It’s a goal of ours to get points off set pieces,” Pontius said. “That’s a good pick, and Quillo delivers the ball, my job is to just put it on frame from there.
