Midfielder Fafa Picault couldn’t find his way into the lineup in the beginning of the season. Now the Union doesn’t know where they would be without him.
Picault scored his fourth goal in the last seven games, and keeper Andre Blake blocked a penalty kick as the Union ended a three-game losing streak with Saturday’s 1-0 Major League Soccer win over rival D.C. United before 17,656 at Talen Energy Stadium.
The Union are 5-7-4, while United fell to 5-9-3.
The 26-year-old Picault, who was signed in the offseason from Germany’s St. Pauli of the 2 Bundesliga, didn’t get off to a quick start in his MLS debut season.
