Philadelphia Union’s first Champions League opponent will be Deportivo Saprissa

The Philadelphia Union will kick off their first Concacaf Champions League campaign with a trip to Costa Rica to take on Deportivo Saprissa in early April.

The Union were drawn with the Costa Rican club Wednesday night.

While the date and time of the matches haven’t been announced, we do know that the Union will travel for the first game of the Round of 16 on April 6, 7 or 8 and host the second leg April, 13, 14 or 15 at Subaru Park.

Saprissa qualified for Champions League by reaching the final of the 2020 Concacaf League.
