Today marks the one year anniversary of Earnie Stewart being officially introduced as the Philadelphia Union Sporting Director. A lot has happened in a calendar year for the Union.
Although Stewart was hired on Oct. 26, he didn’t begin his new role until Dec. 10. When Stewart was asked in an interview with MLSsoccer if making the playoffs was the goal for his team, Stewart’s response was simple.
“Now let’s say we reach the playoffs, have you reached your goal then? I don’t think so,” Stewart said. “You always have to shoot for the highest. So I think it’s simple, we have to win the MLS Cup.
