Leon Flach was officially announced as the newest member of the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday morning.
The 20-year-old Texas-born midfielder and left back was signed to a two-year contract with two club option years for an undisclosed transfer fee to 2. Bundesliga club FC St. Pauli.
“He is a promising young prospect who brings versatility to the field with his ability to play multiple positions in the midfield as well as left back,” said Ernst Tanner, Philadelphia Union Sporting Director, in a news release.
The U.S. youth international holds dual German and U.S. citizenship, which means he will not require an international spot.
