U16s fall to 0-2-0 in the LIGA Bancover MX International Tournament in Mexico City
A turnover in the midfield proved costly again for the Philadelphia Union Academy U16 team in a 2-0 loss to Pumas in the LIGA Bancover MX International Tournament on Friday.
The giveaway occurred just 13 minutes into the game and midfielder Kevin Canchola took full advantage, taking a couple steps with the ball and blasting a shot past Union goalkeeper Kristopher Shakes from about 30 yards out to put Pumas up 1-0.
After the goal, a Union offense with several changes from Thursday’s 1-0 loss to LA Galaxy did manage to maintain some quality possession and create a couple chances.
