The former Philadelphia Union midfielder signs with the defending MLS champions Portland Timbers.
We weren't sure if we would see Amobi Okugo in MLS this year after he was waived by Sporting Kansas City in February, but the defending MLS Champions Portland Timbers announced on Monday that they had signed Okugo. Okugo had had a short time with USL side New York Red Bulls, II but speculation about the move arose after he was spotted at the Portland Timbers' loss against New York City FC on Sunday.
In his time away from the Union, Okugo played in 17 matches for expansion side Orlando City and only three matches while in Kansas City.
