New England Revolution drew 3-3 at Orlando City last weekend, giving up 2-0 and 3-2 leads in the process. Juan Agudelo, Cristian Penilla, and Teal Bunbury scored for first year head coach Brad Friedel’s side, and though the latter’s tally was impressive, only Penilla’s can be chalked up to anything other than atrocious defending.
Of course, New England had their own poor defense to thank for the Purple Lions’ comebacks. First they let Dom Dwyer get goalside of his man deep in the box (the man, in this case, being Jalil Anibaba, who will almost certainly be replaced by the recently-signed Michael Mancienne sooner rather than later), then two set-piece goals hauled Orlando back from the brink.
