Opponent Rewind: Analysis of Minnesota's last match

Minnesota United scored early and held on in their last match to knock off flailing NYCFC at home. Adrian Heath’s men got two goals from new-ish striker Angelo Rodriguez — his second and third since joining the club in July — to seal a 2-1 victory. NYC’s only goal was a late consolation strike from Rodney Wallace.

Although the Loons got the victory, they were hardly dominant. The theme of the match was that neither side could control the other in transition, so it became a question of who could capitalize on their chances. And without David Villa and Maxi Moralez, Minnesota was the only one to do it.
