To help inform and improve awareness about Juneteenth, and, additionally, to stimulate discussion and action about social and racial justice, Widener University Chief Diversity Officer, Micki Davis, graciously spent time with the Philadelphia Union front office today.
Davis led a discussion about the historical significance of Juneteenth and provided resources for the Union to continue building internal discussions about race, inequality, and social justice.
"In today’s world, it is critical that successful businesses and organizations provide opportunities for their employees to engage in meaningful reflection and dialogue surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion issues," Davis said afterwards. "To affect change, these conversations must be followed by a commitment to action.
