Michael Farfan is calling it a career. The 28 year old announced his retirement via a Facebook post yesterday, ending a career that spanned a decade across two countries.
By the time Farfan was drafted by the Philadelphia Union in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, he had already been playing soccer with teams in the PDL since 2006 in his native Southern California as well as a stint with the Ogden (Utah) Outlaws. Farfan also picked up 13 caps with the United States U17 team. He spent three seasons with the Philadelphia Union, playing alongside of his twin brother Gabriel for most of his stint with the club.
