The matchup between Mexico internationals Jonathan dos Santos and Marco Fabián only lasted a little over 20 minutes on Saturday night in Carson.
Fabián exited the game in the 23rd minute after going down with a left ankle injury. He was replaced by Fafa Picault.
It’s not clear what caused the injury, but he initially went down shortly after taking a speculative long distance attempt at goal that in the end didn’t even come close to troubling Galaxy keeper David Bingham.
Before exiting the field, he stopped to greet dos Santos, his teammate on Mexico’s 2018 World Cup squad.
