If you thought U.S. women's national team coach Jill Ellis might use the upcoming series against Chile to widen the net a bit in casting for players, you may or may not have been surprised that she didn't.
Which is to say that if you were surprised, you probably also knew deep down it wasn't likely to happen.
Twenty of the 23 players from the recent Tournament of Nations squad were called up for the Chile games, to be played Aug. 31 in Carson, Calif. (11 p.m., ESPN2) and Sept. 4 in San Jose (10 p.m., ESPN2 and Univision Deportes).
