Lancaster native makes debut in Germany

Russell Canouse became the second player from central Pennsylvania to debut in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute in TSG Hoffenheim's match against Wolfsburg on Saturday.

Canouse, who joined the Bundesliga club's youth setup as a 16-year-old in 2011, got the call in the 67th minute. Just six weeks ago, 17-year-old Hershey, Pa. native Christian Pulisic made his Bundesliga debut with Borussia Dortmund.

A former PA Classics midfielder who also spent time with the New York Red Bulls Academy in 2009-10, Canouse started high school at Hempfield High School and graduated from Heidelberg International English School in Germany.
