Derrick Jones and Auston Trusty were back at training for the first time since the two returned to the United States after competing for the U-20 US Men's National Team in the U-20 FIFA World Cup.
Jones played in four matches throughout the tournament, coming off the bench in the US's first match against Ecuador due to an injury to Gedion Zelalem. Jones then started the rest of the matches in the group stage at holding midfield. Jones was forced to miss the US's Round of 16 match against New Zealand due to yellow card accumulation, but then started the team's quarterfinals match against Venezuela.
