Less than two weeks removed from a bruised lung, Jay Simpson is back on the pitch training with the Union first team.

Simpson made his MLS home debut March 11 against Toronto FC, where he scored his first MLS goal just 11 minutes into the game. However, he had to be removed from the game in the 26th minute. He was later taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a bruised lung.

“He was in the locker room, spitting up blood, which is always a very scary thing," Head Coach Jim Curtin said at his press conference last week.
