For the first time in his life, Bethlehem Steel FC defender Jamoi Topey earned a call-up to Jamaica’s senior-national team. Topey, age 19, had previously featured heavily for Jamaica’s U20 squad in the CONCACAF U20 Championship held in 2018. He had played on the international stage before, but this time he would be playing with Reggae Boyz legends, like Andre Blake and Cory Burke.
“When I first heard that I got called up to play with the senior team, I was feeling very overwhelmed,” said Topey when asked what went through his mind when he found out. “I didn’t even know how to react.
