If Marquez can't go on Saturday, who steps in?

Related Topics: Richie Marquez, Jim Curtin

When center back Richie Marquez exited last weekend’s match against DC United at half time with concussion like symptoms, his availability for the next game came into question.

At his weekly press conference, Head Coach Jim Curtin said he believes Marquez should be cleared to play for Saturday, but the staff will have a difficult decision in who to start.

So who can Philadelphia turn to if Marquez can’t make his 38th consecutive start on Saturday?

Jack Elliott

Elliott is the most likely answer to this question. After all, the rookie was the one that filled in for Marquez when he left the game against United, becoming the first 2017 MLS SuperDraft fourth-round pick to see game action.
