Philadelphia Union are pleased to announce that the hometown hero for Saturday's home opener against Toronto FC is Sandro Cunningham.
A native from Hamilton, New Jersey, the nine-year-old started a coat rack three years ago for those in his community that lacked proper warmth. He collects coats via drop off buckets in the community or schedules pick up for donated coats and then hangs them before school at his coat rack, which is located across from the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. In the warmer months, Sandro and his brother, Cresecenzo make hygiene bags to hand out to those in need.
