On a night when all eyes were on Argentine international Gonzalo Higuaín, it was a 20-year-old from Delaware who grew up rooting for Juventus that stole the show.
Anthony Fontana scored his fourth goal this month in just his second career MLS start and after the game got an earful from the veteran international, who got into a spat with Kai Wagner and Jose Martinez after he skied a penalty kick attempt in the second half.
“I wasn’t on the field for that, but after the game Higuaín came up to me I think he got me and Kai mixed up because he was pointing at me saying something and I didn’t understand,” Fontana said.
