Good Things Happen at Soccer Night in PA for Sandy Hook

“There is balance in the universe. Simply put, good things can happen from bad things. I think that this is a really good example of that.”

That is how Newtown Pride FC head coach Mike Svanda addressed the crowd and summarized the ‘Soccer Night in PA for Sandy Hook” charity matches that took place Tuesday evening at the WCUSC Turf Field. The event brought together Bethlehem Steel FC, Reading United, West Chester United and Newtown Pride FC to raise awareness and funds for Newtown Youth and Family Services.

“Winning and losing is important but the game of soccer is about a lot more than that and out of the tragedy of Newtown, we have used it as a focal point to start helping out kids and communities,” Svanda said.
