Philadelphia Union will hit the road for their first contest away from Talen Energy Stadium in 2018 this Saturday when they travel to Colorado to take on the Rapids. In terms of road matches on the Union’s schedule this season, the elements in Colorado create a more difficult task than usual.
Garrison Draper, the club’s Director of Performance, explained how playing in Colorado is more difficult to play than most places due to the altitude.
“I think when we consider all the different factors when playing in Colorado, it’s up there near the top,” Draper said. “I think we would always say if we catch in Houston in July, that’s a tough one because it’s a 100 degrees and the humidity is high, but Colorado is up there with Houston and Real Salt Lake as a difficult place to play because of the elevation and the weather there is just very unpredictable.
