NYCFC came to town this past Saturday, and we decided to make two changes to the lineup. 2017 MLS Superdraft pick Jack Elliott made his MLS starting debut at right center back, and Roland Alberg made his first start of the season at the attacking midfield position.
As we all know NYCFC is loaded with talent, they have greats like Andrea Pirlo and David Villla, but also in the offseason picked up some other great attacking pieces like Maxi Moralez and Alex Ring to name a few.
Entering the match we knew that we needed to limit the touches that the attacking players were able to get in dangerous positions, and wanted to force them to have to come back to help the defenders advance the ball.
