Molly and Lucy McCabe would pretend to shop together, just a six year old and her three-year-old sister looking for the clothes and toys they wanted and finding joy even though they didn't own those things. It was the first thing Molly thought of when Philadelphia Union asked her what she did for fun.
Both Molly and Lucy were part of the Fearless 43, a group of children fighting childhood cancer that Philadelphia Union has been working with to raise awareness during Kick Childhood Cancer month. On Monday night, Lucy passed away, and as word of the news has traveled throughout the Union organization, from the Community Relations team that worked with her to find out what she wanted to draw on athlete's cleats, to the entire front office, and then to the players and coaches, all have reacted with shock and sadness that Lucy is no longer with us.
