Carlos Cuevas scored a golden goal to beat Temple while La Salle and St. Joseph’s both post wins
Freshman Carlos Cuevas scored his first career goal six minutes into overtime to break a deadlock and lead Drexel to their first win of the season over Temple on Tuesday night.
Cuevas, an Orlando, Florida native who spent time in the Orlando City Academy, redirected a pass from Colin McGlynn in the box past Temple goalkeeper Alex Cagle for the golden goal.
McGlynn scored his first of the season to level the score in the 17th minute and Ilai Shvika’s second of the year put the Dragons up in the 29th minute after he pounced on a loose ball from a Dakota Peterson corner kick.
