As a part to the Union’s March to Soccer events, Commissioner Don Garber visited Philadelphia Tuesday, spending time at the Union’s training facility and Academy before meeting with Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, Chester Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland and Union ownership and executives.
The March to Soccer week culminates with the Union’s home opener Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, where Philadelphia will battle Toronto FC in a rematch of the Eastern Conference Knockout stage of the 2016 MLS Playoffs. It’s a premier matchup for both teams, one Commissioner Garber said the league is excited about.
“It’s just fantastic,” Commissioner Garber said.
