Ross County of the Scottish Premier League has signed Toms River, New Jersey native Chris Konopka to "a short-term contract." Konopka will be filling in for the Staggies (I swear I didn't make that up - that's really what they're referred to) injured goalkeeper Scott Fox, who is out with damaged medial ligaments.
This isn't the 30 year old Konopka's first foray into European soccer - he played for Bohemian FC, Sporting Fingal, and Waterford United in Ireland from 2008 to 2011 before heading back to MLS with the New York Red Bulls.
