Despite jumping out to an early lead, the Harrisburg City Islanders are still winless through their first two games in the 2016 USL season, falling to the Charlotte Independence 2-1 in North Carolina. Jamaican Craig Foster got the scoring started early for Harrisburg on a a great individual effort. Foster was able to fight off a defender, draw the ball across the top of the 18, and fire one past Independence goalkeeper Cody Mizell in the third minute.
After a couple of decent chances for both teams, Charlotte pulled level in the 22nd minute when Caleb Calvert got on the end of a nice cross by Jorge Herrera and headed it past Nick Noble.
