Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel Coronel has returned to train with FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga in a move that appears to have spelled the end of his time on loan with the Philadelphia Union.
“We are not trying to keep him,” Sporting Director Ernst Tanner said on Wednesday. “We are trying to find a solution in order to release him to Salzburg.”
During his time with the team, the 22-year-old made four appearances for the first team and eight in the USL Championship for Bethlehem Steel FC.
“It’s a situation where Salzburg requested him back but without our commitment it wouldn’t be happening,” Tanner said.
