ORLANDO, Fla. (July 5, 2020) – Philadelphia Union clashed with the Portland Timbers Thursday night in the MLS Is Back Tournament Semifinal match presented by Audi, falling to the Western Conference foe 2-1. Portland took the lead early with a 13th minute goal and doubled the advantage in the 70th minute. Philadelphia cut the Timber’s advantage in half in the 85th minute after a Jamiro Monteiro free kick was saved and Andrew Wooten picked up the rebound and scored from close range. Just a minute later a scramble in the box ended with Kacper Przybylko putting the ball in the back of the net, but an offside call would take the equalizer of the board.
