The Union spent Saturday evening commemorating a lot of milestones. Sébastien Le Toux became the first member of the team’s ring of honor, Walter Bahr’s passing was observed with a moment of silence, and Jim Curtin celebrated his 39th birthday.
The most important milestone, though, came during the game. With a dominant win over the Vancouver Whitecaps, the Union (6-7-3, 21 points) finally jumped into sixth place in the Eastern Conference — and into one of the playoff spots.
[Summary]
It might be only a temporary achievement, with sixth-place Orlando and seventh-place Chicago still to play Saturday night.
